What does mobile detailing actually cost in Pearland? We break down what you get at every price point, why some shops are cheap, and when it makes sense to spend more.

The Real Cost of Mobile Detailing in Pearland TX (Honest 2026 Breakdown)

If you Google "mobile detailing Pearland TX" and start calling around, you will get quotes ranging from $75 to $800 for what sounds like the same service. That price spread confuses people, and it should, because the services are not the same even when they use the same words.

I run a mobile detailing business that services Pearland multiple days a week. Here is an honest breakdown of what things actually cost and what you are getting at each price point.

The $75 to $125 Range: What You Are Actually Getting

At this price in Pearland, you are getting a mobile car wash. Not a detail. The person will show up with a pressure washer, spray your car down, wipe the interior with a damp microfiber, apply some tire shine, and leave.

This is fine if your car is relatively clean and you just want it tidied up. It is not going to address stains, odors, swirl marks, or any real interior issues. The products used at this price point are typically consumer-grade soaps and spray waxes from Walmart or Amazon.

There is nothing wrong with this service for what it is. Just know what you are paying for. If someone quotes you $90 for a "full detail" on a Tahoe, that is a car wash with extra steps.

The $149 to $299 Range: Actual Detailing

This is where real detailing starts. At Fresh Path, our services in this range include:

Interior Detail ($149 sedan / $209 SUV): Full vacuum including under seats and in crevices. Steam cleaning of all hard surfaces — dash, console, door panels, cup holders. Leather cleaning and conditioning or fabric extraction. Glass cleaning inside and out. Door jamb wipe.

Exterior Detail ($149 sedan / $209 SUV): Hand wash with pH-neutral soap. Wheel and tire cleaning. Clay bar decontamination. One-step machine polish to remove light swirl marks. Spray sealant application. Tire dressing.

Signature Detail ($299 sedan): Both interior and exterior combined, plus engine bay wipe-down and trunk detail.

At this price point, you should expect the detailer to spend 2 to 4 hours on your vehicle. They should be using dedicated automotive products, not household cleaners. They should have a machine polisher, an extractor, and a steamer — not just a bucket and microfibers.

The $399 to $799 Range: Full Correction and Protection

Elite Detail ($399 sedan): Everything in the Signature Detail plus deeper paint correction, trim restoration, and longer-lasting sealant. This is for vehicles that need more than a light polish — daily drivers with real swirl marks, water spots, or mild oxidation.

Ceramic Coating ($799+ sedan): Full decontamination, clay bar, paint correction, panel wipe, and professional ceramic coating application. This is a full day of work, 6 to 10 hours depending on vehicle size and condition. The coating itself lasts 2 to 5+ years.

If someone quotes you ceramic coating for under $500 on a full-size vehicle, ask what product they are using and whether paint correction is included. In most cases at that price, it is a spray sealant labeled as ceramic, or the prep work is being skipped. Either way, it will not last.

Why Prices Vary Between Detailers in Pearland

The biggest cost differences come from:

Insurance. A fully insured mobile detailer carries general liability and care/custody/control coverage. This costs real money annually. The guy on Facebook Marketplace running a side hustle probably does not have it. If he damages your paint or breaks a trim piece, you are eating the cost.

Equipment. A proper mobile setup includes a water tank, generator or battery system, machine polisher, hot water extractor, steamer, and hundreds of dollars in towels, pads, and product. Operating this rig costs money in fuel, maintenance, and replacement.

Products. There is a huge difference between a $8 gallon of generic soap and a $45 liter of pH-neutral decontamination shampoo. Same for polishing compounds, ceramic coatings, and interior cleaners. Professional products cost 5 to 10 times more than consumer products. They also work 5 to 10 times better.

Time. A real interior detail on a Suburban takes 3 hours minimum. If someone is quoting 45 minutes for an SUV interior, they are not extracting carpet, conditioning leather, or steaming crevices. They are wiping and vacuuming.

My Honest Recommendation for Pearland Drivers

If your car is in decent shape and you just want to keep it clean, get an exterior or interior detail every 2 to 3 months. Budget $150 to $210 per visit depending on vehicle size.

If your car has not been detailed in over a year, or you have stains, odors, or visible swirl marks, start with the Signature or Elite Detail. One thorough session gets you back to baseline.

If you just bought a new or new-to-you vehicle, get ceramic coating within the first 30 days. The $799 upfront saves you thousands in paint correction and repainting down the road, especially in Pearland where the sun and humidity are relentless.
